Hint

The acetabulum (socket) is reamed, and an artificial shell and socket is implanted.

This can be cemented or uncemented, depending on the age of the patient, bone quality, and surgeon preference.

The femoral shaft is then prepared, and a femoral stem is then implanted.

Again, this can be cemented or uncemented.

An artificial head (ball) is then fixed to the stem, and the hip reduced.
